NYX Intense Butter Gloss Tres Leches IBLG11 Review & Swatches

Hi Lovelies & Happy Monday to you!

Sorry for being so MIA from my blog but I have been so busy like crazy that I cannot seem to find time for my blog.. But hopefully now I should post regularly.

So today I am going to be reviewing NYX Intense Butter Gloss in Tres Leches in the shade 'IBLG11'. I recently went crazy with haul & I got these babies which seem to be raved because they are the higher end "dupes" for Miss Claire Intense Butter glosses.
NYX Intense Butter Gloss IBLG11

So let's see how it is!

About NYX Intense Butter Gloss :

Drench your lips in extreme color with our signature buttery smooth gloss.

Price & Qty :

You get these babies on Nykaa online currently for INR. 575/-, for 8ml (Buy Here)
Currently Nykaa has 10 shades available on it's site.

NYX also has a store in Mumbai which it has inaugurated recently. Yayee!!!

Packaging :

The NYX intense butter glosses come in a sleek plastic tube with metallic cap. The tube is really small & sleek which can be carried so easily in the smallest of clutches as well!

The tube also all the information that you would require to know about the product or the manufacturer, ingredients or date of expiry etc.

Ingredients :

Texture & Fragrance :

As the name suggests, it is a butter gloss which makes it very shiny obviously. It is less sticky than a gloss & it has a buttery consistency. When you apply the butter gloss, you literally feel like you have applied a colored butter on your lips, only with a fragrance!

Yes this has a strong cocoa fragrance which when you apply you can feel. However the fragrance hardly lasts & literally cannot be smelt after few minutes of application. But if you are allergic to cocoa smell or in general fragrances in your makeup, this one may certainly not be your fave.

The applicator wand is slightly flexible making it very easy to apply the butter gloss all over the lips without going outside the lip lines.

Color & Consistency :
Tres Leches with lesser light (Natural)

Tres Leches with proper Natural Light

The color Tres Leches is nude pink with cool tones to it. So it may not be best nude for you if cool toned lipsticks do not suit your skin tone. However it is such a nude that even you do not have an even skin, it will not wash you out or make you look flat or sick.

The color applies completely with one application only without having to dip the wand for more color. However if you have lip lines, the color applies a tad bit patchy but it settles down the moment your purse your lips together.

The lips are hydrated and well moisturized because of the butter gloss all day long!

Staying Capacity :

Since this is a butter gloss, you really cannot expect it to have a longer staying power on your lips. It lasts for a good 3-3.1/2 hours without eating anything. It does survive drinks & maybe small snacks like having idlis with spoon, but certainly not meals. Therefore you will have to re-apply this on your lips soon after lunch/ dinner.

As the day progresses, the shiny look of the gloss fades away however there is absolutely no change in the way lips feel. They are well hydrated & moisturized even though the shinny layer wears off.

This is how NYX Intense Butter Gloss Tres Leches looks on me. Please ignore the bad skin cause my skin was being funny & allergic as well.. Sigh!

This looks like a close dupe of L'Oreal Infallible Mega Gloss in 110 I Got the Power. L'Oreal one is however a bit warm toned which has more of brown than pink while NYX gloss clearly is more pink with almost no brown to it. Also, NYX Intense Butter gloss has more pigment that is evident on lips than the L'Oreal one.

See the comparison of swatches here :
Left : L'Oreal Mega Gloss I Got The Power
Right : NYX Intense Butter Gloss Tres Leches IBLG11

As can be seen, L'Oreal one is brown than pink while NYX is pink.

Pros of NYX Intense Butter Gloss Tres Leches IBLG11 :

  • Very buttery & therefore apt for dry lip conditions
  • Opaque in one application
  • Small & sleek packaging
  • All the important information is mentioned on the packaging
  • Cruelty free
  • Hydrates & moisturizes the lips really well
  • Easy to apply applicator wand
  • Good shade for a daily wear or for those who do not prefer intense colors on lips

Cons of NYX Intense Butter Gloss Tres Leches IBLG11 :
  • Does not have a longer staying power
  • Has a cocoa fragrance which may tiff some people
