NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick Oh, Put It On Review & Swatches

A big Hi!! to the readers! It is time for another review on this blog & this time it is a lipstick. I mean seriously, can we ever have enough of them? Certainly NO! Lol! #morelipsticksplease

So today I am reviewing NYX Liquid Suede lipstick in Oh, Put It On for you! Talk of having lipstick names...

So let's see how it is!

Product Details :

Doll up your lips in plush & vibrant colour. Our liquid suede cream lipstick glides on & sets into a striking matte finish. Velvety soft & waterproof, this long lasting lipstick creates a positively polished look with every swipe.

Price :

INR 845/- , 4ml

Packaging :

The liquid cream lipstick comes in a tube which is colour co-ordinated with the lipstick shade. All of the required details are printed on the tube for your convenience. There is no outer carton packaging, it is just wrapped in a plastic. The cap of the lipstick is black with a classy design on it's top.

The applicator is a long wand which is flattened on both sides. The length of the wand is a big enough, but personally I prefer smaller length wands because they make application easier. This wand since it is big, there are good chances that the the lipstick may go outside the lip lines as opposed to smaller more user friendly wands.

Colour & Texture :

The colour Oh, Put It On is a dark Aubergine colour certainly not for the faint hearted! It is an out there straight up vamp colour. On the lips it looks like a dark almost black lipstick, but it is NOT. That is what baffled me because even i liked the fact that it is a Aubergine colour when in fact on the lips it looks almost black! #sad

The texture of the liquid suede is certainly creamy & therefore it is not in the category of the liquid lipsticks. The feel of the lipstick is not light wearing certainly because when you try to layer the lipstick, you will feel it on your lips.

Pigmentation :

As seen from the pics above, the colour is insanely pigmented and 1 swipe of the lipstick is enough for get the true aubergine colour. However, when you apply another layer, the colour then starts to looks like dark blue almost to the extent of black! :(

Also this lipstick has a very weird smell that seems chemical like. I certainly do not mind any fragrances in my makeup, but this one is a turn off for me.

Staying Power :

The lipstick has a decent longevity on the lips. However the longer it stays on the lips, the harder it becomes especially if you have dry & chapped lips which were not exfoliated or moisturised before applying this lipstick. Also I have noticed that if layered more than once, this lipstick tends to accumulate inside of the mouth in small balls, which is very annoying needless to mention.

It definitely fades after a meal & therefore a re-application is necessary.

Here is how it looks on me with a neutral eye makeup :

My Overall Thoughts on this Lipstick :

This particular shade is certainly a pass for me & I would only suggest you spend your money in it if you like experimenting with your lipstick shades very often & do not mind spending a bomb for that!

Pros of the NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick Oh, Put It On :

  • Good in pigmentation
  • Smooth on application
  • Packaging is good
I could not think of any more pros for this! :(

Cons of NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick Oh, Put It On :
  • A colour not for everyone of course!
  • Settles in lip lines as time passes
  • Has a weird smell to it
  • Tends to accumulate inside of the mouth
  • Highlights dry & chapped lips conditions
  • A bit pricey
