So today I am reviewing NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in the shade 'Prague' which is my current favourite pink at the moment. They have named the shades of the lip creams after the names of famous cities of the world.! #smart
So let's see how it is.
About NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream :
Neither lipstick nor lip gloss, this matte lip cream is a new kind of lip colour that goes on silky smooth & sets to a matte finish.
Price & Quantity :
INR. 600/- for 8ml
Packaging :
The NYX Soft matte lip creams comes in a sleek small tube packaging with a black cap which is rubberised. The tube is colour co-ordinated with the lip cream. The packaging is also travel friendly one & can be easily tucked in any of the small pockets of jeans as well. I always keep one in my hand bag. ;-)
The outer packaging is just a plastic wrapper which has the price, quantity, Date of mfg., import etc printed on it.
The applicator is a very convenient doe-foot wand which is flattened to make the application easy. It does not go out of the lip lines & in fact lining of the lips with this wand is damn easy.
Colour & Texture :
The texture of the matte lop cream is exactly what it states. When you apply the lip cream, you do not get the feeling of application of a lipstick or a gloss or any other lip product. You get the feeling that you are applying a cream on your lips which is coloured. The texture is very light weight which is the best part because most matte lipsticks will make you realise that you have them on, but not soft matte lip creams. I guess which is why they are the most popular NYX products sold!
The colour Prague is a beautiful bright fuchsia pink with berry tones which is perfect for Indian skin tones. The perfect pink which can brighten your face for those minimum makeup days or off mood days as well! Lol!
Staying Power :
The soft matte lip cream has a decent staying power of about 5-6 hours after which it tends to fade away. But yes, in this time it does not budge what so ever even if you have meals. This does not feel uncomfortable also on the lips. You have to give it sometime to set completely matte which is about 30 mins or so after which the lip cream will not budge nor it will dry up your lips.
Overall Thoughts on NYX SMLC 'Prague' :
I will be lying if I said that I can pass on this lip cream. I absolutely love the formula, the staying power, the pigmentation (which is incredible by the way). All you need is one application on the lips. However for extremely pigmented lips, more than one would be required, I would not mind though!
The lip cream does not feel at all on the lips & literally mean it! You have to actually wear the soft matte lip creams to believe in them. I highly recommend!
This is how it looks on me with just an eye kohl in the waterline & you can see how it lights up my face instantly!

- If not used very often, the tube tends to dry up.
- Since the cap is rubberised, it does get dirty especially in humid climates
